The article is devoted to the study of the direction of Russian society’s economic development. The author reveals the peculiarities of Narodnik economic thought concerning capitalist relations. The researcher draws conclusions about a possible alternative to the capitalist development of Russian society. The author studies the features of the country’s economy transformation, its problems and the opportunities to solve them. People’s education is singled out by Narodniks as the main way to solve economic problems.
