The article presents the main stages of the biography Of N. I. Glukhovtseva (1938-1996), the first Director of the Volga Scientifi c Research Institute of Selection and Seed-Growing named after P.N. Konstantinov. The directions of scientifi c and research activities of the talented leader, an outstanding scientistbreeder and the practical results of her work that made a signifi cant contribution to the development of agricultural science in the Russian Federation are reflected.
