This paper discusses the unbelief thought among Muslim youth in Malaysia. Unbelief is a term that refers to the absence of adherence to religion in the context of free lifestyle practice which is centred on human rights. In addition, it also includes an understanding that is rooted in humanism, secularism, pluralism and liberalism. This study aims to analyse the level of unbelief thought based on the following domains: knowledge, perception and attitude of Muslim youth towards humanism, secularism, pluralism and liberalism. A pilot study was conducted to identify the level of unbelief thought among Muslim youth. The research instrument were distributed to 43 respondents in one of the Higher Learning Institutions in Selangor. The questionnaire instrument was constructed by a group of researchers and its content was validated by a panel of experts. The reliability of the research instrument was valued based on Cronbach Alpha; it obtained a high result of α = 0.84. The study outcomes demonstrated the mean score for the overall level of unbelief thought among Muslim youth was low (mean = 2.55, sd = 0.28). Whereas the mean score for knowledge constructs was high (mean = 4.41, sd = 0.45), the mean score for perception constructs was low (mean = 1.96, sd = 0.54) and the mean score for attitude constructs was also low (mean = 1.28, sd = 0.31). Additional study was also conducted to measure the level of their Islamic knowledge. The study showed the mean score for the level of the youth's Islamic knowledge was high (mean = 4.93, sd = 0.15). The findings revealed the level of Islamic understanding among Muslim youth was high compared to the level of their unbelief thought, which was low. These findings portrayed despite the existence of a small number of Muslim youth who have deviated from being adherent to religion; there are still a large number of them in Higher Learning Institutions who understand Islamic knowledge highly.   Keywords: thought, unbelief, Muslim youth, Higher Learning Institution. Kertas kerja ini membincangkan pemikiran tidak beragama dalam kalangan belia di Malaysia. Pemikiran tidak beragama merujuk kepada satu istilah ketiadaan pegangan agama dalam konteks mengamalkan cara hidup bebas berpaksikan hak asasi manusia. Pemikiran tidak beragama juga merangkumi kefahaman yang bertunjangkan humanisme, sekularisme, pluralisme dan liberalisme. Kajian ini bertujuan menganalisis tahap pemikiran tidak beragama berdasarkan domain pengetahuan, persepsi dan sikap golongan belia Islam terhadap fahaman spekulatif tersebut. Satu kajian rintis telah dilaksanakan untuk mengenal pasti tahap pemikiran tidak beragama dalam kalangan belia Islam. Instrumen kajian telah diedarkan kepada 43 orang responden di salah sebuah Institusi Pengajian Tinggi di Negeri Selangor. Instrumen soal selidik telah dibina oleh kumpulan penyelidik dan kandungannya telah disahkan oleh panel pakar. Kebolehpercayaan instrumen kajian dinilai berdasarkan Cronbach Alpha yang mencapai tahap α = 0.84 adalah tinggi. Hasil kajian menunjukkan skor min bagi keseluruhan tahap pemikiran tidak beragama dalam kalangan belia Islam adalah rendah (min = 2.55, sp = 0.28). Manakala skor min bagi konstruk pengetahuan adalah tinggi (min = 4.41, sp = 0.45), skor min bagi konstruk persepsi adalah rendah (min = 1.96, sp = 0.54) dan skor min bagi konstruk sikap adalah rendah (min = 1.28, sp = 0.31). Kajian tambahan juga dilakukan bagi mengukurkan tahap pengetahuan Islam mereka. Kajian menunjukkan skor min bagi tahap pengetahuan Islam belia adalah tinggi (min = 4.93, sp = 0.15). Dapatan ini menunjukkan tahap pengetahuan agama golongan belia Islam adalah tinggi berbanding pemikiran tidak beragama mereka adalah rendah. Dapatan ini menunjukkan sebahagian besar belia Islam di Institusi Pengajian Tinggi masih lagi mempunyai pengetahuan Islam yang tinggi tanpa menafikan wujudnya sebilangan kecil belia Islam yang semakin jauh daripada pegangan agama yang sebenar.   Kata kunci: pemikiran tidak beragama, belia Islam, Institusi Pengajian Tinggi.
