Ficus thonningii is an African ethnomedicine plant used to treat a number of diseases. The nutritional, phytochemical, and pharmacological aspects of F. thonningii in relation to its therapeutic purposes are numerous. Ficus thonningii contains alkaloids, terpenoids, flavonoids, tannins, active proteins, and active proteins.
