The research was devoted to theoretical training on the stage of previous basic development in fencing. Analysis of theliterature enabled to reveal that one of the ways of improvement of the quality of young fencers training process is the substantiationof structure and content of theoretical training and significance of its components on the stage of previous basic development infencing. Problem and aim. The issue of theoretical training of athletes in fencing is mentioned fragmentally, which points at absenceof one approach in its realization at different stages of long-term development. There is the need for quantitative and qualitativeincrease in information transfer and quality acquirement of specific theoretical knowledge, particularly using different methods andmeans of theoretical training. Methods. theoretical analysis and synthesis, analysis of documentary material, comparison,abstraction, methods of induction and deduction, expert assessment, pedagogical experiment. Results and Conclusions. For thesolvation of the set tasks there was established and implemented author program of theoretical training on Olympic values andtheory of sport in fencing with using algorithmic educational and entertaining means. Pedagogical experiment, which consisted oftwo periods both for four months, enable to determine the efficiency of author program of theoretical training in comparison withgenerally accepted one. There was verified efficiency of algorithmic educational game means of theoretical training on stage ofprevious basic development during training period. The most universal algorithmic game means of theoretical training are«Associations», Simulator «TTT» and «Puzzle», which confirmed positive changes in theoretical preparedness within the variousinformation blocks of 7.4–55.6 % of athletes. There was determined that universal algorithmic educational and entertaining meansn Olympic values and theory of sport in fencing are: simulator "TTT", "Associations", "Puzzles".
