This article deals with the Social Information System (SIS), of the Department of Valle del Cauca Department in Colombia. The SIS is in the implementation phase by the Ministry of Social Development and Participation, and in its conceptual development is linked to social policy processes, so it is developed based on the Integral Social Management System (SIGESI). The development of the SIS is part of the processes of modernization of the State, so as a tool it is linked to the schemes of the new public management, it seeks innovation in management from the digitalization of different types of processes, procedures and information.
