The article examines the features of verbalization of the conceptual metaphorical model “The Arctic exploration is a sport” as an approach of the specific content of concept-ideologeme “Arctic” explication. The most frequent formulations related to the concept’s semantics and explicating cognitive sport model are studied. For example, “Race for the Arctic”. An attempt to describe the features of the cognitive phenomenon through the method of metaphorical modeling, as well as to conclude the dominant meanings in its structure is made.
