The purpose of the article is to study, generalize and systematize the factors of development of small and mediumsized enterprises in Ivory Coast and identify the relationship between them and the regional competitive strategy and position. This study therefore examines the difficulties and problems of small and mediumsized enterprises in Côte d'Ivoire on the one hand, based on empirical data, and on the other, from the perspective of regional competitiveness, its components and planning. SMEs can and should become drivers of the region's developmentwith appropriate policies. For example, improved water supply and a welldeveloped licensing policy for production facilities will allow companies in the Ivory Coast to significantly increase their profitability.
