In this work, the azidation of 2,2'-dichloroethyl ether (chlorex) in aprotic bipolar solvents, dioxane and water at various solvent / chlorex ratios was studied. The choice of the catalyst for the azidation reaction was substantiated and its effect on the degree of chlorex conversion was shown. Optimal conditions for azidation were selected.
