We studied two types of palladium-containing catalysts in the hydrogenation reaction of a model feedstock in order to reveal contacts resistance to sulfur, and it was shown that the decrease in the activity of catalysts upon the action of thiophene is associated with the number of electron-seeking centers on their surface. An assumption was made about the hydrogenation proceeding according to two schemes, depending on the type of catalyst
