The paper presents a study on the quality and energy efficiency of operation for a photovoltaic plant with a power of 8 MW connected to the national energy network. The various operating regimes of the main network elements within the investigated photovoltaic plant are examined both qualitatively and quantitatively. Thus, for power transformers and medium voltage cables in the plant, the losses due to the particular regimes imposed by the load are calculated (often deforming and unbalanced regimes). In this way, opportunities are identified to increase the energy efficiency of the entire system, but also methods to improve the quality of energy delivered at the point of its connection to the local energy system.
