The year 2020 saw the reedition of Sun from the West by Ulas Samchuk in Kharkov, a novel which for decades had been considered missing. Together with The Mountains speak!, it creates a characteristic dylogy, which is bonded by the Carpathian space. The author of the paper refers to the findings of the French scholar Bertrand Westphal concerning focalization. The author also makes an attempt to capture the essence of the allogeneic perspective, which consists of two approaches – the autochthon’s one and the voyager’s.
