: This study aims to describe the ability to write text summary reports on the observation results of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Loghia. The method used in this research is quantitative descriptive method. Based on data analysis, it can be concluded that out of 62 respondents, 58 were categorized as capable individually (93.55%), while those who were unable individually reached 4 respondents (6.45%). The ability to write text summary reports on the observation results of seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Loghia is categorized as capable. That said, because classically the ability of students of SMP Negeri 1 Loghia reached 93.55%. Of the eleven aspects studied, classically the students were able to the comma aspect, namely reaching 61 respondents or 98.39%, the point, standard, and non-standard aspects of it reached 60 respondents or 96.78%. While those in the incapable category, namely in the aspect of summarizing general statements / general definitions, it reached 20 respondents or 32.25%. The aspect summarizes the section description, namely reaching 32 respondents or 51.62%, the aspect summarizes the description of the benefits of 38 respondents or 61.29%, the aspect of using effective sentences is 44 respondents or 70.97%, the aspect states the main idea, namely 47 respondents or 75.81 %, the aspect mentions detailed information, namely 21 or 33.88%, the answer aspect is about the content of the structure, namely 14 respondents or 22.59%, and the aspect of using capital letters reaches 30 respondents or 48.39%. Keywords: Observation results; Writing skills; Text summary;
