The soils of industrial enterprises operating plants for the production of chlorine and
alkali with a mercury cathode are contaminated with mercury. Demercurization of the soil leads to the
formation of mercury-containing wastewater. To remove mercury from wastewater, an adsorption
method is proposed using a sorbent based on lignin, organochlorine waste, and sodium polysulfide
