The article presents the content of the prevention of economic crime in the context of strategic planning and the determinants of its generating. Demonstrated the offensive growth of economic activities over the past ten years, on the example of crimes committed by deception or abuse of confidence. The polysemy of concepts and signs of economic crime is shown. The most characteristic features of it are highlighted. A special role in the area taken for the study of the new National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation and the Strategy of the Economic Security of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030 is outlined. The methodological basis for the prevention of economic crime is presented in the form of provisions of the Federal Law “On the Basics of Prevention of Offenses in the Russian Federation”. The complex of its main determinants and methods of their leveling are outlined. The necessity of developing a draft Federal Law “On Counteracting Economic Crime” has been substantiated. It is noted that the prevention of economic crime is an axiom.
