The article discusses amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation of 12 December 1993 entered into force July 4, 2020. The three articles on the constitutional regulation of the exercise of local self-government in the eighth chapter have undergone major changes. As a result of the manifestation of political will, new, previously unused legal structures were constitutionally consolidated. The article attempts to determine the level of modern constitutional abstraction of the regulation of the territorial foundations of local self-government.
