The main stage of formation and development of the railway police is described. This period defined the fundamental principles of the construction of all further activities of the railway police in particular and the entire transport police in General. The article analyzes the reasons why the railway police was restored, as well as the peculiarities of its structure, subordination and functioning. We also consider the interaction of the railway police with other entities that ensure law and order in railway transport.
