The article correlates the formal and essential understanding of the model of the subject of evidence in criminal cases. The requirements to the model of evidence are argued, the forensic accents of the process of evidence are highlighted, which makes sense to use in scientific, methodological and practical activities. Proposals are formulated to optimize the methodological content of crime investigation activities.
