The article analyzes the main approaches to the state’s response to the crime committed: punitive, rehabilitative, recovery. The authors substantiate the need for a gradual transition of Russia’s criminal policy from a punitive approach to the paradigm of restoration of violated rights and legitimate interests of the parties and suggest the practice of its implementation in the Russian criminal law.
