The article is devoted to the study of the features of the theoretical understanding of the investigative ideology of criminal proceedings. As a result of the research, the author came to the conclusion that there is an ideological paradox, which is that collective scientific efforts to strengthen the theoretical foundations of competition do not lead to tangible practical results. The development of legislation shows that the search ideology without any theoretical justification captures new horizons. At the same time, the author believes that such successes of investigative ideology do not cancel the need for its thorough theoretical understanding, since the existence of a corresponding theory could significantly strengthen the existing practical successes of transferring criminal proceedings to the rails of a fair technology for establishing objective truth.
