Amon Nir's article is an ethno-historic study on how the non-Inca provincial elites of the Inca empire perceived the Inca central government. The study is based on three sources, namely the following post-conquest manuscripts: 'Ritos y Tradiciones de Huarochiris' (Anonymous), 'Relacion de Antiguedades deste Reyno del Piru' (authored by Joan de Santa Cruz Pacha Cuti) and Felipe Guaman Poma de Ayala's 'Nueva Corónica y Buen Gobierno'. His study analyses both the events related in those texts and the language used to describe the Inca central authorities. His study suggests that among non-Inca elites of Huarochiri and Canchis there was acceptance for Inca central government as the legitimate administration.
