Poster distribution can increase compliance and treatment success by improving knowledge of treatment instructions. A poster is a type of visual media that is used to transmit information that can impact and encourage the behavior of those who see it. The goal of this study was to determine patient adherence to diabetic mellitus medication by distributing posters at Simpang Empat 1 public health clinic in the district of Banjar. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a cross-sectional approach and data gathering from prospective patients. Diabetes mellitus patients treated at Simpang Empat 1 Health Center district Banjarin from January to October 2019, a total of 338 patients. According to the findings of this study, the group that was iven a poster had a high level of compliance (70.6 percent), but the group that was not given a poster had a low level of compliance (41.2 percent). The Mann-Whitney research identified a p-value = 0.039 (<α = 0.05), indicating that there was a difference between the groups that received and did not get a poster. The Chi-Square analysis revealed a link between poster administration and medication adherence ( p-value = 0.037 (<α = 0.05)). Based on this research, there is a difference in drug compliance between the groups that received the poster and those that did not get the poster. It is possible to conclude that there is a relation between medication adherence and diabetes mellitus patients at the Simpang Empat 1 Public Health Center in District Banjar.
