On the basis of transitivity system, this paper attempts to analyze Trump’s inaugural address. Based on quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, this paper aims to divide the speech into six processes, material process, relational process, mental process, existential process, verbal process and behavioral process, and give examples under each process. It is concluded that no matter which process Trump used, the ideas he conveyed are similar. After analyzing the speech, readers can improve sensitivity when reading political studies.
