The article deals with the problem of reducing noise from highways. The aim of the work is a more detailed study of the acoustic screen potential based on the Helmholtz resonator, in particular, the possibility of using such a screen to reduce the noise level in the area in front of the screen. The main task solved in this article is to determine, by experimental and analytical methods, the amplitude-frequency characteristic of a noise-absorbing screen installed in an acoustic chamber. The results of measurements of the sound pressure level at various frequencies in the area in front of the screen are presented. A comparison of the obtained values of the reflected noise for cases of a screen with resonators without filling and with noise protection material filling with the results obtained by analyzing the sound pressure level with a continuous screen is given. The conclusion is made about the possibility of solving the problem of noise level reduction in the areas of possible location of people using such screens.
