In Enugu urban residential areas, most of the residential housing are occupiedby varying categories of persons and they are done on rental basis. Arguably,the residents have different feelings concerning the extent of satisfactionderived from the housing quality. The tasks confronting policy makersand stakeholders are to identify as well as analyze the factors determiningadequate and satisfactory housing that will serve as a guide for future housingdesign and development especially in rental houses. This study aimed atdetermining the various satisfaction determinants in the rental housing in theresidential areas of Enugu Metropolis with a view to raising options for betterhousing delivery. The study was conducted using survey researchmethod. Both primary and secondary data were used in the study. Primarydata were collected with the aid of structured questionnaires. A total of 200copies of questionnaires were used for the analysis across nine residentialneighbourhoods in Enugu urban. Stratified sampling technique and systematicsampling technique were used in the study. The statistical tool that thataided in revealing the determinants (factors) that influence residents’ satisfactionwith their rental housing in the study area was. The study identifiedand classified the factors that influence residents’ satisfaction with theirdwelling units into seven components which explained 75.01 percent of the observedvariation in public housing satisfaction variables. The seven factorsare House Unit Attributes (8.305), Proximity/Accessibility to Infrastructure(4.733), Neighborhood Facilities Attributes (4.306), Infrastructure Services(3.330), Utility Attributes (2.890), Social Attributes (2.126) and Waste DisposalFactor (2.066). The need to adequately and holistically consider thesevariables in the provision of rental housing in the State were recommendedfor policy makers and rental housing providers in the State
