Insecurity is undoubtedly a very big challenge in Nigeria today. The level of insecurity in Nigeria especially inNorthern part of the country is unprecedented. The result is that to both the citizenry and the governmentnational security has assumed a front burner position in the national discourse. With the lingering securitychallenges and the unending helplessness or indifference of the national security agencies as well as thegovernment to contain the scourge, this paper seeks to examine the need for leadership educationdevelopment as the way forward.
