The article examines some aspects of making connections between elements of combinatorics and geometry, combinatorics and number theory. Some models of organizing the investigative activity to solve problems are illustrated. In particular, commented solutions are presented for some problems proposed in international competitions in which intradisciplinarity is highlighted.
