The mosque is a prime Islamic institution to articulate its visionand carry the engagement in the holistic development of the community asa community development Centre. The social service works are muchhighlighted and encouraged in Islam. The purpose of the study toinvestigate the mosque engagement in social works in two areas namelythe welfare programmes and human services. This paper is mainly reliedon the analysis of the data collected from the interview surveyadministered among the randomly selected mosque island-wide and fieldobservation along with the review of the records and documents. Thefindings reveal that the mosque engagement in social services is up to themark in both areas under the investigation. Moreover, the mosque peoplemost likely pay attention to the social activities specially during thedifficult time caused by the natural or communal disasters. This paper mayprovide the concerned people the idea and information to design themosque programme in social works.
