The article is devoted to the analysis of eye dialect in Hinton’s novel «The Outsiders». The main situational groups in which the eye dialect is most often used in the novel are singled out. The theoretical basis of studying the problem of eye dialect is outlined and the features of its reproduction in the translation of the novel «The Outsiders» are researched.
