The article examines the assessments given by the Russian Overseas’ press, in connection with the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, 1936-1939. The main reasons related to the internal and international aspects of the events in Spain, the adequacy and depth of their coverage by the leading Russian political emigrant press of the main socio-political trends are analyzed in a comparative context
