Government has lot of responsibilities to fulfil towards the society. One among them was eradication of poverty in the country. A country like India with huge population the above task is a difficult one. In achieving the above said objective government identified self-help groups (SGHs) as one of the suitable solutions. In this article an in-depth analysis is made to understand the functioning of SGHs and its impact on below poverty people. The primary data was collected in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states and using statistical tools evaluated the data to conclude the results.
