This article highlights the important issues of distance learning. A brief history of the development of distance learning and individual approaches to the applicability of this type of training in modern conditions are given. An individual approach to distance learning allows you to expand the scope of various educational distance learning courses by involving the creative forces and interests of each participant of a particular distance learning resource. Each student of a distance course can ask questions based on their own interests and previously acquired knowledge, which will significantly expand the discussion and therefore the coverage of one or another course being studied.
