In reinforced concrete structures corrosion is the most destructive challenging problem. Many techniques are available to reduce corrosion. Extracts from plant have been used as a protective coating for steel reinforcement. The corrosion inhibiting nature of the extract of Mollugo pentaphylla in M20 grade concrete was examined in this paper. The cube casted were exposed to 3% NaCl for 56 days and it was investigated by using gravimetric method,pH measurement, open circuit potential test and compressive strength test. The compressive strength test was conducted after curing for 28 days. The inhibitor solution was prepared using distilled water and extract of Mollugo pentaphylla for 0%, 50% and 100% concentration. From the results it has been observed that the inhibiting efficiency increases with the decrease in concentration.
