The present study deals with comparativepharmacognostic parameters involving moisture content, ashvalues, extractive values and quantification of active component(Amarogentin) in whole plant of two different sites of Garhwal[Chakrata (CK) and Kaddukhal(KK)] in Uttarakhand of Swertiachirayita have been carried out. The quantification ofamarogentin evaluated by HPLC, results indicate that Chakratasite has higher percentage of amarogentin than Kaddukhal site.Adulteration and substitution of medicinal plants can beprohibited by standardization and authentication.
