In the article we tried to analyze the thematic-problematic and plot-compositional features of the stories of the talented writer Zhylkychy Japiev “Nostalgia” (“Kusalyk”), “Let's go to Son-Kul” (“Son-Kolgo barabyz”), “Fate” (“Tagdyr”) . The hero of the story "Fate" through his author's "I" with gentle humor, skillfully draws "heroes of our time", criticizing them. In the image of his hero, the author criticizes social indifference, lack of civic position, laziness of the soul.
