The article examines the formation time and dynamics of the development of the Kyrgyz story genre. In connection with the development of society, the renewal of the ideological and substantive features of the works also proceeded in parallel. More precisely, the writers in the form of the origin of the genre of the story used such newspaper genres as sketches, zhanytma. Only later, after the formation of an independent genre of the story, its nature, history of development, features. For example, if during the Great Patriotic War more stories were created on the subject, awakening the patriotic feelings of the people, then in the 60s and 80s, works of a different content appeared. They openly talked about people of various professions, cases from the life of employees that influenced their future fate. This kind of complex consideration of the stages in the development of the genre of the story was our task.
