This study aims to analyze and describe how to build the character of environmental awareness for students through the education of waste bank programs. The research used a qualitative method approach. Data were collected through direct observation, interviews, and field documentation and were analyzed using a descriptive approach. The results showed that every school in Malang City has goals, plans, and management in improving students' character. Strengthening the character of caring for the environment is achieved very effectively through positive character-building activities in students. This research provides practical insight into the character development of environmental care through school programs. It is proven that the students have been trained and educated in various activities related to caring for the environment, maintaining cleanliness, and managing waste through the Malang Garbage Bank program, as well as the Environmental Curriculum as the Mulok Curriculum, which is taught as “monolithic” and “integrative." Strengthening the character of caring for the environment is achieved very effectively through positive character-building activities in students.
