This paper presents the use of Taguchi method in investigating the use of a wood lathe machine (turning operations) in dynamic systems for obtaining the optimum cutting parameters. Two generic functions characterize the woodturning process: The specific energy of cutting is connected linearly with the power of cutting and with the quantity of the cut. These parameters have been measured on the basis of the cutting depth and the rotational cutting speed. The optimization of the rough woodturning relies upon the ratios of dynamic signal to noise and the sensitivities that tolerate superior performance and efficiency.
