The urgency of the problem of mass growth of cyanobacteria is determined. The problem of the «flowering»of water sources of Moscow has been studied. The analysis of long-term and seasonal dynamics of the mainbiogenic elements (phosphorus and nitrogen) in the initial water of the water source. The efficiency of waterpurification from cyanobacteria cells was evaluated in the purification stages of technological lines of waterprocessing stations. The conclusion is made that it is necessary to carry out further studies on the content ofthe products of vital activity of cyanobacteria in the initial and drinking water of the water source.
