The practical aspects of serological diagnosis, therapy and specific prophylaxis of Ixodid Tick-borneborrelioses are associated with the complex problem of their etiology. To study the microorganisms of thegenus Borrelia with constantly improving modern molecular-biological methods the Museum ofBorrelia, comprising storage and an electronic database with the computer algorithm of its formationand replenishment in MySQL for use in the Internet environment. It enables more details to use of aculture isolated at different times from different reservoir hosts, vectors and patients from differentregions, for in-depth study of the taxonomy and intraspecific heterogeneity of Borrelia. Currently themuseum contains about 1 250 isolates and approximately 7 430 storage units (aliquots).
