The contribution of the outstanding Soviet scientist microbiologist Zinaida Vissarionovna Ermolyeva inprevention of the cholera epidemic on the Stalingrad front in days of the Great Patriotic war isdescribed. In the most difficult conditions of wartime, the deep feeling of a debt and responsibility, highprofessionalism, helped Ermolyeva to reflect epidemiological threat of cholera successfully. Her selfsacrificingefforts have been successfully brought to a logical conclusion and became an example for allcountry, having opened the new page for history of preventive medicine.
