The results of studying the impact of environmental factors on public sources of drinking water supply,in particular the Ural River, are presented. The analysis of the data system of environmental monitoringcarried out by environmental services FGU «Orenburg CGMS» and Kazhydromet as part ofintergovernmental cooperation, starting from the border of the Russian Federation, Chelyabinsk andOrenburg regions and ending with the confluence of the Ural River to the Caspian Sea in Atyrau regionof Kazakhstan. The comparative evaluation of the quality and safety of drinking water supply in the tenyeardynamics are given.
