On the basis of the many-year (1994–2013) hydrological and ecological monitoring of the Vyvenka Basin rivers (Koryak Plateau, Kamchatka Cray) results of observations of permissible impact of alluvial platinum open cast mining upon river systems have been cited. Regional problems of norm setting for mining enterprises have been considered. It has been shown that the main infl uencing factor for river systems in open cast mineral mining is input of solid material into rivers. Dependence of suspension input volume on the disturbed land area has been used for setting norms for anthropogenic load upon rivers.
