Current peculiarities of water runoff within-year variability are considered in the paper. According to the latest data (up to 2010) on 114 sites in the Volga basin changes in natural runoff overregulation are shown. It is proved that essential change in natural runoff overregulation in the Volga basin is closely connected with changes of spring flood and rivers’ runoff during summer–autumn and winter low water periods.
