The article deals with the different ways of aquatic ecosystems bioindication in order to determine the normal range of their quality by biological and physical-chemical indicators. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that the original environmental control technology is proposed based on the analysis of data of monitoring of natural ecosystems rather than toxicological data of laboratory experiments. The value of this paper is the proposed methods of assessment of aquatic ecosystems. These methods involve the use of information on the ecosystems that do not require additional data collection based on existing data (in this case, on the abundance and biomass of species and size classes of phytoplankton). The conclusions from the obtained results are determination of normal borders for biological indicators and physical-chemical characteristics by which we can judge safety or disturbance of ecosystems.
