The article examines the possibility of short-term forecasting of water levels and dates of their occurring during a spring flood period and flooding of vast developed territories of the city of Kursk. An algorithm and major dependencies for the shortterm forecast of runoff under the conditions of the great infl ow and with the account of bed processes have been given. Conclusions on the possibility of application in the given conditions of the forecasting methods depicting the high water wave formation in the generalized view have been made.
