The statement considers the use of step-by-step washing of bed-diverting channels as one of the methods of natural water bodies protection against pollution with suspended matter. The current methods of water flow designation in bed-diverting channels in the step-by-step washing have been assessed, the drawbacks of these methods have been noted, the tasks of further investigations on their improvement have been set, this will allow to provide correspondence to the norms of maximalpermissible discharge of suspended matter to watrer bodies for bed-diverting channels of various purposes made in loose soils.
