Ecological consequences of peat flotation during flooding the bog areas in Krasnoyarsk Krai caused by filling of the large reservoir of the Boguchany hydro power station in the Angara River valley have been analyzed in this paper. Causes of peat flotation at the Boguchany reservoir have been considered in details. The forecast of areas, volumes and dates of flotation of peat deposits in the reservoir has been given.
