This research aims to examine the characteristics of thesector mezcalero in Mexico. The analysis was qualitative,of observation about the organization and quantitative ofthe information in the territories. The activity responds tothe importance of generating income, strengthening thewealth of cultural, ancestral traditions and experiences ofindigenous people. The agricultural policy undertaken bythe Mexican state in the value chain should includecoordinated actions among the three areas of governmentto boost productivity.
