A comparative analysis of the methods for manufacturing a round bimetallic billet for wire production is carried out: explosion welding; joint hot rolling (batch rolling). The results of experimental studies of the shear and tear resistance when determining the strength of the connection of the layers are shown, which showed that reliable adhesion between the layers is achieved in the manufacture of the workpiece by both methods.
